Wemby Watch: Out (Ankle) at Trailblazers

--

Story of The Game

This was a known sit game for Victor.

As much as I’ve chastised Pop for his OCD in minutes restrictions and rest-injury games, I’m in favor of any other missed games in the next two weeks for ankle rest.

This shouldn’t be a reoccurring theme for the best of his career (Pop is probably already thinking of rest games for 2027), but for the time being, rest is appropriate.

I saw the grimace on Victor’s face vs. the Jazz firsthand and he was in real pain.

There’s no need to be Rocky Balboa right now, the primary concern is flattening any potential ankle problems.

Quick Thoughts

Victor was excellent last game. Uncoincidentally, it was the first game where he finally became the nucleus of the offense.

But Victor made a point to show his teammates that just because he’s where everything begins, it’s not where it ends.

The Spurs will rack up some wins if they keep featuring Victor.

Did you see the alien stats he had in just 24 minutes?

Up the ante to 35 and you’ve got yourself a playoff team, Pop.

(Not now, of course. Pop sabotaged the first 1/3 of the season with all of his experiments and developments and etc.)

Pre-Game Setup

The Portland-Spurs matchup is game #31 for the Spurs.

Betting: Spurs +5.5, Over/Under 232

(Guess-Prediction: I’ll take the Spurs and the over.)

Betting Record going into the game 17–16–1.

The Spurs travel to Portland for this contest.
